...more information about Tobago

Driving is on the left hand side, like in the UK. Speed limit is 50 Km ph (30 mph) everywhere. To rent a car you have to be at least 24 years old and have two years experience. No need for an international driving license. To rent a motor bike, helmet and licence are compulsory.
Tobago has few gas stations; fill your tank before touring the island. Take a map, even if driving in Tobago is very easy; road signs are few. Local people sometimes drive in a “strange” way, be careful, they still use... hand signals! By night roads are very dark and can be dangerous in rainy weather. Drive slowly.

STEEL DRUMS
The Steel Drum, or Pan, is a unique instrument, it is the only acoustic (non-electric) instrument invented in the twentieth century. It was invented on the island of Trinidad, and it's the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago. It is still strongly associated with Calypso music to which it gives instantly a tropical Caribbean "island" sound. The Steel Drum carries the full chromatic range of notes, and can produce just about any type of music you can think of! Go to Buccoo on Sundays night to listen to this spectacular music.
